BRC Half/Full Marathon training - Week 7 Long Run

Good afternoon everyone!

 

Tomorrow is our seventh long run. We will get started at the prescribed time below in the parking lot behind the Belleville St Louis Bread Company.

 

Half Marathoners – We will start at 8:00am and will be running 9 miles (see schedule). We will run 1 loop on our 5 mile route and then one loop on our newly created 4 mile route (you may notice that the 4 mile route is an awful lot like the 3 mile route). If you aren't familiar with the route, there are water fountains and restrooms on the course. We usually break for a couple of minutes at the end of the loop to get drinks of Gatorade, take a GU, etc.

 

Marathoners – We will start at 7:15am and are scheduled to run 18 miles (see schedule). We will run 3 loops on our 5 mile route and then 1 loop on our 3 mile route. If you aren't familiar with the route, there are water fountains and restrooms on the course. We usually break for a couple of minutes at the end of the loop to get drinks of Gatorade, take a GU, etc.

P.S. What does everyone think about moving our 03/19/11 long run to forest park? The downside is that this will be our longest run and there are also two local races on the same day: McKendree's races (5k, 10k, 10mi) and a 5k/10k at the shrine. The other alternative would be to move our 03/26/11 run.
