You can see metro-east park, bike trail plans on Jan. 18, 19

FYI.  See the article below about the MEPRD's Community Update on their Long Range Plan.  If you like our local trails and would like to see more of them, please try to attend.  According to MEPRD's website, "those in attendance will have the opportunity to ... provide comments on the projects being proposed for priority."  A good showing by the BRC at this event can only be beneficial in the development of additional trails and improvements to our existing trails.

Two chances are coming up to have a voice in planning local parks and bike trails.

The Metro East Park and Recreation District will share long-range plan for parks and recreation projects and take comments about the plans during two open houses.

The first is 6:30 to 8 p.m. Jan. 18 at the district office, 104 United Drive in Collinsville.

The second is 6:30 to 8 p.m. Jan. 19 at the William and Florence Smith Art Center at Southwestern Illinois College, 2700 Carlyle Ave. in Belleville.

The district creates or helps in development of an interconnecting system of parks, trails and greenways in Madison and St. Clair counties. It is funded by a one-tenth-cent sales tax approved by voters in November 2000.
