Volunteering is another way to get involved and Pedal the Cause is always looking for dedicated volunteers to help out with all aspects of the event. 100% of the proceeds stay in St. Louis to fund cancer research through the Cancer Frontier Fund, an initiative of Barnes-Jewish Hospital that benefits the Siteman Cancer Center, and the Children's Discovery Institute at St. Louis Children's Hospital. | | What's New in 2011 |  | After the 2010 Marathon & Family Fitness Weekend we conducted an online participant survey to evaluate how to improve the event for 2011. We received thousands of great suggestions and positive comments. Here's what we found out – More than 95% of participants would recommend the event and 86% rated it excellent or above average, which is great news. In addition, comments suggested that we needed to change the start line and add more volunteers for the early water stations. So in 2011 we will have a corral start with color coded bibs, based on your self reported projected finish time, which should help provide for a more efficient start. Other improvements include adding more volunteers and entertainers along the course, creating a post-race celebration area, virtual runner packets, runner tracking and text alerts. | | Big River Running Company Named Presenting Expo Sponsor |  | GO! St. Louis and St. Louis-based Big River Running Company have agreed on a three-year sponsorship deal to become the presenting sponsor of the annual Health & Fitness Expo, which is held in conjunction with the Marathon & Family Fitness Weekend.
