Tour de Belleville registration deadline tonight

Tonight is the deadline for people who want to pay $15 to ride in Friday night's Tour de Belleville. The registration fee goes up to $25 on Thursday.

The Belleville Parks and Recreation office at 510 W. Main St. will stay open until 7 p.m. today for a registration party. Or people can sign up at www.tourdebelleville.com until 11:59 p.m.

The Tour de Belleville is a 16-mile recreational ride through city streets for people of all ages. It begins at 9 p.m. at Union United Methodist Church.

Bicyclists can cover the entire route or stop at 5 or 11 miles. The ride raises money for community safety equipment.

Activities will begin at 6 p.m. with a picnic, musical entertainment and a bike-decorating contest at the church.

If you've never done it before, this is a really great event.  And I live just a couple of blocks from the start/end of the ride.  So if anyone wants to meet beforehand, send me an e-mail…..
