BRC Half/Full Marathon training - Week 6 Long Run

Good afternoon everyone!

Tomorrow is our sixth long run, which puts us officially at the halfway point of our training. We will get started at the prescribed time below in the parking lot behind the Belleville St Louis Bread Company.

Half Marathoners – We will start at 8:00am and will be running 6 miles (see schedule). We will run 1 loop on our 5 mile route and then pick up another mile by going out and back ½ mile on the course. If you aren't familiar with the route, there are water fountains and restrooms on the course. We usually break for a couple of minutes at the end of the loop to get drinks of Gatorade, take a GU, etc.

Marathoners – We will start at 7:15am and are scheduled to run 12 miles (see schedule). We will run 2 loops on our 5 mile route and pick up another 2 miles by going out and back 1 mile on the course. If you aren't familiar with the route, there are water fountains and restrooms on the course. We usually break for a couple of minutes at the end of the loop to get drinks of Gatorade, take a GU, etc.

Thanks,

Dan

P.S. If you're looking for a little running humor, check out this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cw5MHsO-JI8). You may have already seen it going around facebook a couple of months ago.

P.S.S. At one time, we discussed running forest park one of these weeks and maybe running part of the race course. We have 5 more long runs scheduled. Is there a week that any specifically prefers?
